Jogging and Reflection

Beginning tomorrow morning, I will be getting up a 5:00 a.m. and taking Mythieus for a jog, before heading off to work. My goal is to build up to a 3+ mile jog each morning. But we aren’t there yet. We will start by doing a 1/2 mile alternating, jog/walk. The goal is to increase our stamina and intensity, slowly!

While putting together this jogging program for Mythieus and myself I have been reflecting on my time with Imhotep. Imhotep was a running fiend and he made one out of me, at least temporarily! While going through Utah’s P.O.S.T, I would get up at 5:30 a.m. and take Imhotep for a mile and a half jog through the neighborhood. It was a really great way to bond with him.

I’m hoping by jogging Mythieus early in the morning, it will expend some of his energy and he will be better behaved at home while I am at work. Plus, I am really looking forward to spending time bonding with him, the way I did with Imhotep!
